School-Age Program

We provide before and after school programs for Kindergarten and school-age children up to 12 years of age. We also have a summer program for school-age children.

Kindergarten: For Kindergarten, our teacher to child ratio is 1:14. We provide before and after school programs for either morning or afternoon Kindergarten. Enrollment into this program includes breakfast and/or lunch. The Bluffton and Cory Rawson School buses stop at our front door before and after school. The most important objective of this program is to provide a safe place for your child before or after school. Additional benefits include involvement in our extended learning program, which helps your child further develop skills that will be needed for the following year.

Volcanoes Anyone? Our curriculum meets the State of Ohio Standards and includes the following:

We also provide arts and crafts activities, outside time for large motor skill development, and some free time for socializing. We involve the children in planning their future activities in the Kindergarten room. Planning future activities as a class allows the children to practice their decision-making skills as well as teaches them about teamwork.

School-age: For school-age children up to 12 years of age, our teacher to child ratio is 1:18. As with our Kindergarten program, this program is available both before and after school. Both Bluffton and Cory Rawson School buses stop at our front door for pick up and drop off. We also provide care for your child on calamity (snow) days as well as for school delays.

Breakfast is provided to any child who attends this program before 8:00 a.m. We also provide an afternoon snack for when the children get off the bus at the end of the school day.

The main objective of this program is to provide a safe, secure environment for your child who is not yet old enough to be left alone. While the program has a relaxed setting where children can share ideas and participate in activities of choice, the staff will set aside time to help your child with their homework (with the parents consent). This program is an extended learning program as well. Our curriculum meets the State of Ohio Standards and includes arts and crafts projects; educational computer and board games; group and team games; and outside play.
